Dust off your boots and chalk up—the First Annual Send 'N Spurs with the ICF has arrived! This all-levels bouldering competition brings the grit, the glory, and a whole lot of yeehaw to the International Climbers’ Festival. This multiday bouldering competition kicks off Thursday (or whenever you get to Lander and check in!) and concludes on Saturday at 4pm when scorecards are due back in City Park.  

Western attire is encouraged (and awarded). Fun guaranteed. 


  • Where: Cabin Boulders, Cheese Graters and Cabin Boulders
  • When: Thursday - Saturday July 10-12; scorecards are due at 4pm @ WyoClimbers' booth at the Trade Fair on Saturday. 
  • Format: Redpoint-style V-point competition

  • Divisions: V3 and under, V6 and under, V7 and above

  • Prizes: Awarded to top finishers in each division, plus a special prize for first place finishers

Pre-registration encouraged to ensure a smoother ICF experience! 

RULES:

  • Bouldering areas that are IN (in short, all of them):
    • These areas can be found in the 2023 guidebook "Lander Rock Climbs" (available at Wild Iris Mountain Sports).
      • Cheese Graters in Sinks
      • Rockshop
      • Cabin Boulders → be aware of private land.
  • Notable Mentions:
    • Practice Leave No Trace principles, please!
    • Be aware of venomous snakes (ie. Rattle Snakes)
    • Be aware of private land for Cabin Boulders
  • Problems must be onsighted or red-pointed during the ICF (7/10-12)to count. This means starting from correct start and finishing properly. V-points are noted on the other side.
  • You must use this official scorecard during the competition and turn in the one you use (please be kind to the judges and be as neat as possible!).
  • You have from Thursday to Saturday to fill out your top 15 boulders. You do not need to do 15 boulders to turn in your scorecard.
  • Scorecards are due at the WyoClimbers’ booth at the Trade Fair by 4pm Saturday! Cards submitted at or after 4:15 PM will not be considered.
  • No teams, only individual score cards are scored
  • Categories
    • V3 and under, V6 and under, V7 and above
  • Bonus Points are awarded by:
    • 1 extra point per problem:
      • Tagging @wyoClimbers + @sendbars + @climbersfestival on IG with your send footage (including name of problem, grade).
    • 10 extra points on scorecard:
      • Wearing a new pair of demo shoes per day (Friday, AND Saturday).You must have proof that you sent at least one boulder in the demo shoes (via video footage that you tagged @wyoclimbers, @climbersfestival, @shoecompany, and @sendbars)
    • 20 extra points on scorecard:
      • Dressing in western attire while bouldering (proof with photo on social media by tagging @wyoclimbers, @climbersfestival, and @sendbars)

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE AWARD CEREMONY EVENT during the KeyNote in City Park at the stage.

EXTRA BONUSES

• Spurs and Chaps (+50) - Dress in your best western attire, and show us your style! Bonus for having a costume on when you turn in your scorecard on Saturday!

• Barrel Racer (+100) - Redpoint at least 1 problem (each) at every sector (Cabins, Cheese Graters, and Rock Shop)

• Team Padz (+150) - Redpoint 10 problems, all of a certain grade, i.e. all V3's

• Bull Rider (+200) - For every additional 5 problems climbed after your initial 15

V-POINT SCORING

V0= 1 point, V1 = 2 points, V2 = 3 Points, V3 = 4 Points, V4 = 5 points, V5 = 6 points, V6 = 7 points, V7 = 8 points, V8 = 9 points, V9 = 10 points, V10 = 11 points, V11 = 12 points, V12 = 13 points, V13 = 14 points, V14 = 15 points
